Farkas Archives

Phil Farkas (1914-1992) touched the lives of many horn players worldwide. His unparalleled career in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra followed by his tenure at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN left a deep impression on the horn players of not only that generation, but also the modern era. Beginning in the early 1960’s, Phil Farkas worked on the design and development of the Holton Farkas French horn with The Frank Holton Company. Today, the line of Holton Farkas horns remains as one of the most desired in the world. Conn-Selmer is proud to be the manufacturer of the horn that Phil called his own.
