Death Cab for Cutie
Artist's BiographySeattle based Jason McGerr has worked steadily for the past 17 years as a touring musician and educator both in the US and internationally . Since 2003, Jason's primary commitment has been with the band Death Cab For Cutie and he is featured on their latest albums, Transatlanticism and the 3 time Grammy nominated Plans. While not on tour with Death Cab, he has also been very involved as a session player, most recently with Canadian sister act Tegan and Sara, and the San Francisco based Matt Nathanson. His knowledge of equipment, recording and teaching have also been regularly requested by producers as a liaison between musician and engineer, helping to better the sounds and psychological approach to performing in the studio.
In addition to his busy schedule as a player, Jason has been a core staff member and private instructor at The Seattle Drum School of Music for the past 12 years. When time permits, he has a cliental of students that range in ages and are beginners to advanced players, including local and touring professionals. His clinics and performances have also been requested at The University Of The Arts in Philadelphia, and as a performer at The 2006 Modern Drummer Festival Weekend.
